Broadcasting LIVE from three hubs during the Wandsworth Arts Fringe 2016

R.2803 (8.15).qxp_Layout 1The Wandsworth Arts Fringe is a vibrant, annual showcase of creative activity taking place across the borough of Wandsworth. For two weeks in May you will be able to see some of the most dynamic and exciting work being made by local and national artists.

gypsy_caravan_main_image_500_333_sStreet performances, family workshops, exhibitions, music and dance will be hosted by established venues, but also encountered in the parks, charity shops, galleries, libraries pubs and even the bakeries of Wandsworth.

Church_of_St_Mary_the_Virgin,_Putney,_London_03This year Wandsworth Radio will be broadcasting LIVE from three hubs across the festival. The first broadcast will be the launch event at St Mary’s Church in Putney on Friday 6th May from 4-6pm.

On Saturday 14th May we will broadcast LIVE all day in Heathbrook Park as part of the Hidden Heathbrook programme. This little known Wandsworth park will be revitalised with a collective of companies presenting music, dance and dsc_6169_edit_300_300_s_c1_c_ctheatre that is free and accessible to all. Including Puppets with Guts who are bringing along a giant squid, Beautiful Mess, Spare Tyre, The Miraculous Theatre Company, SLiDE Dance ands performances of Reynard the Fox.

And finally on Saturday 21st May at The Bedford in Balham from 12-3pm we will bring you all the flavour and colour from The Dacha from Dash Arts which is a 12-hour, ever-changing free dacha_1_500_331_sperformance venue modelled on the iconic Russian country house. The Bedford will be welcoming audiences through the prism of an Ukrainian family and their friends across a century – from the turbulence at the end of Tsarist imperialist rule, through Soviet socialism, to the contemporary challenges of independence.the-bedford

Wandsworth Fringe is co-ordinated on behalf of Wandsworth Council by the Arts Team of Enable Leisure & Culture, in collaboration with a steering group of local representatives and independent Fringe Producer, Cath Mattos who is also Projects Director at World Festival Network and World Fringe.
