Choral & cake!

Singing bakers meet every Monday to rehearse for their concert coming up 19 November at St. Leonard’s Church in streatham-choral-singingStreatham, “Back to Bach”.  Actually you don’t need to do the baking, just the singing and they are open for new members.  On Monday we meet Streatham Choral and find out how you can join and what you can expect in their upcoming concert on 19 November.

“Cats” comes to the New Wimbledon Theatre this week, so who better than those musical theatre hounds to sniff catsout a good interview and fetch it to us ArtsWatch listeners.  Caitlin & Chris get behind the scenes on Tuesday’s show.

The Finns are coming!  Antti Tuomainen, author of “The Mine” and Kati Hiekkapelto, author the-mine-the-exiled-finnishinvasionof “The Exiled” came to Ballham, via a swish launch of their latest books at the Finnish Embassy and the Dulwich Books, to meet me in Balham.  Listen on Wednesday to hear what inspired their latest Nordic Noir novels.

It takes two Charlottes to put on the next show at TheatreN16.  Charlotte Peak and Charlotte Nice try to distance themselves from the racier characters in “In Love & Warcraft” which opens in Balham 6 November. They try to tell me they are geeks (I don’t thinks so) and reassure me that I don’t need to understand gaming.  I trust them, and am going along myself this week.  Listen into their interview on Thursdaylovewarcraft-theatren16

ArtsWatch airs 6.30-6.45pm Monday- Thursday and the next ArtsWatch Replay, where we repeat the best bits from the previous two weeks, will be broadcast 6pm on Sunday 13th November.
