Alison Buchanan is doing amazing work as Artistic Director of Pegasus Opera Company to create opportunity for BAME artists in the opera world.  She’s also known as The Yard Singer due to her own outdoor performances during Covid-19 Lockdown. Find out about all of her initiatives in our interview including plans for a Windrush Opera.

Regeneration in Roehampton has raised the profile of change with some elderly residents in the area.  Their surprising response to it? They have made a film called “Alton Animates”, we speak to the contributors to the film to find out more.

Mollie Moore a local film maker has won Best Documentary at the Sioux for “Paper Thin” which covers the transition of a Russian asylum seeker from Anton to Victoria.  She captures very human moments in Victoria’s journey to finding a new home and new identity.

When the Doddington and Rollo Roof Garden had to close to the public during lockdown, this didn’t put an end to the volunteers there collaborating on something else.  Local poet Hilaire and local artist Stephen Graham have collaborated on a book available at local libraries.

More singing! This time Battersea Power Station Community Choir posted a video of them singing “Something Inside So Strong”, they couldn’t have dreamt that it would attract the attention of megastar Sting.  What happened when it did?
