Paul Potts joins Carpet Martin for a mid week Breakfast

It’s a decade since the singer Paul Potts won the very first ever series of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent.

The moment he stood on the stage at his audition is one of the most watched YouTube videos ever uploaded.

James Corden starred as Paul in a film created about his life.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) the tenor will be joining Carpet Martin on ‘Morning Wandsworth’ from 7am to discuss the release of his fifth studio album, On Stage.

Speaking about his new album, the star told The Daily Express: “It’s mainly West End and Broadway show tunes with some Opera in their too, including a new recording of Nessun Dorma.

“It’s longer and my voice is better than it was ten years ago, so it will sound great.”

Looking back at the decade since his Britain’s Got Talent win, he said: “Well I feel really old. There’s a few more grey hairs than there were. Everytime a Just For Men advert comes on my wife points at it.”

Potts added: “It’s still quite amusing in some ways. I’m still doing what I love doing at a high level after 10 years.

“Not everybody gets that opportunity, not everybody get to do that, so I’m incredibly grateful to the people who have supported me over the last 10 years. It still doesn’t feel like work, which is a great thing.”
