THE BOAT RACE IS BACK!

Join Riverside Radio this Sunday 3rd April at Putney Bridge as The Boat Race returns to the River Thames for the first time in two years.

Putney’s Business Improvement District, Positively Putney has asked Riverside Radio to bring our radio magic back to St Mary’s Church Square with our outside broadcast team and performance stage as the rowers of Oxford and Cambridge Universities battle it out on the river from Putney to Chiswick Bridges.

We’ve got a thrilling line up of acts and musicians to keep the party going through the day including favourite local singer songwriter Natalie Shay, community choir Sing SWell, powerhouse performer Janethan takes to the stage and the stunning sounds of Ben Kidson plus many more.

The Boat Race is regularly attended by over 250,000 spectators on the banks of the river and watched by many millions more on television.

2022 will see the 167th Men's Boat Race and the 76th Women's Boat Race.

Fans of The Boat Race usually pick one team to support! Cambridge University Boat Club wears the light ‘Duck Egg’ blue while Oxford crews wear dark blue.

Riverside Radio will be broadcasting from our stage in Church Square next to Putney Bridge which you’ll see as you walk up to the river from Putney Railway Station alongside local food and drinks stalls which will keep everyone refreshed for the day.
