7 Nominations in Radio Awards

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Riverside Radio has been nominated in seven categories at the upcoming Community Radio Awards  more than any other community radio station in the country this year. This recognition is a huge honour and a tribute to the talent, creativity and commitment of our volunteer teams and contributors across south-west London.

Over the years, we’ve built a reputation for community engagement, local stories, bold programming, and putting emerging voices on air. That journey is now being recognised on the national stage.

We’ve had success before. In 2020, Riverside won the Gold Award for Digital Station of the Year at the Community Radio Awards. That win was a landmark moment: a validation of our ambition to do high-quality digital radio, especially during a year when community broadcasters had to step up in extraordinary ways.

We are immensely proud of these seven nominations.

Station of the Year - Riverside Radio

Digital Content of the Year - Riverside Radio Digital Team

Newcomer of the Year - Rob Singleton

Sage Person of the Year (Over 60) - Ian Barclay

News, Journalism & Factual Storytelling of the Year - Riverside Reports Team

Entertainment Show of the Year - Riverside Breakfast with Jason Rosam

Presenter of the Year: Man - Dan Draper

The awards ceremony will bring together community radio stations from across the UK in Bradford later this month. Bradford is currently the UK Cpaital of Culture. We’ll be awaiting the results with excitement and pride.

Seven nominations, that’s not just a number. It’s recognition that Riverside Radio is punching above its weight. It’s affirmation of the countless hours our volunteers put in. And it’s a vote of confidence from judges looking across the entire landscape of community radio in the UK.

We’ll keep you posted as the results arrive. In the meantime, huge thanks to every volunteer, every listener, every local group, every partner who makes Riverside Radio possible. Let’s bring home some awards and if we don’t get them all, we’ll be back again next year.
