Council Tax, Cuts and the Cash Crisis

In September Wandsworth Council announced their unprecedented council tax hike and now other councils are eyeing their shrinking budgets trying to make the numbers work.

Councils face a cut from central government funding, with boroughs like Richmond looking at a reduction of almost 60%, the largest in London.

Riverside Radio is pleased to host Councillors Peter Graham, Malcolm Grimston, Jim Millard and party chair Cameron Joshi for a live debate to dig into the issues of funding, tax rises and cuts.

Wandsworth say they're set to lose £84 million a year by 2030, Richmond claim it's £102 million over a 4 year period. The Labour government say these funding changes direct money to more deprived areas. But what will it mean for crucial services in our boroughs?

Join Riverside Radio and Jason Rosam from 1900-2100 this Wednesday 14th October to hear how the government cuts will affect you and how your parties are responding.
