Riverside Radio is delighted to announce that we’ll be bringing AFC Wimbledon fans LIVE and FULL commentary of home matches from Plough Lane throughout the 2026/27 season.

It’s an exciting new chapter for Riverside Radio Sport and means Dons fans across South West London can follow the action live when they can’t make it to the match.
Our commentary team will be at the Cherry Red Records Stadium for AFC Wimbledon home games, bringing listeners all the build-up, atmosphere and action from Plough Lane.
The first full commentary will be AFC Wimbledon v Reading on Saturday 22nd August, live as part of the Riverside Radio Sports Show from 2pm to 6pm.
Riverside Radio Managing Director Jason Rosam said:
“We’ve been reporting on the incredible story of the Dons for the last 10 years and have a fantastic relationship with the club and those associated with it.
“We’re delighted that we can now take our coverage to another level and bring full commentary from Plough Lane to our listeners.
“This is a really important local service. We know there are Dons fans across South West London who can’t make it to every match, and now they’ll be able to switch on Riverside Radio and follow the action with a commentary team who know and love the club.”
The new AFC Wimbledon commentary service comes during a huge year for Riverside Radio Sport.
Earlier this summer, our team provided inside coverage of The Championships at Wimbledon for the first time, following years of building our relationship with the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
It continues more than a decade of Riverside Radio covering sport across Wandsworth, Merton, Richmond and Lambeth, from some of the biggest sporting names in South West London to the grassroots clubs, teams and organisations at the heart of our communities.

Riverside Radio Sports Editor Ben Heys will be behind the microphone for the first match alongside Jason Rosam.
Ben said:
“I’m delighted we’ve been given the opportunity to break new ground and increase our coverage of AFC Wimbledon.
“Being able to commentate on Wimbledon’s home games this season on the Riverside Radio Sports Show will bring listeners and fans closer to the action and provide a platform for emerging sports commentators and reporters to find their voice.
“We’re very grateful to AFC Wimbledon and look forward to following the club this season. Come on you Dons!”
The Riverside Radio Sports Show broadcasts every Saturday from 2pm to 6pm, with AFC Wimbledon commentary alongside the latest action, results, reports and interviews from clubs and sporting organisations across South West London.
