South West London is switching on the sparkle once again and Riverside Radio will be right at the heart of the celebrations! From Battersea to Balham, Twickenham to Wandsworth Town, our communities are coming alive with Christmas lights, live performances, markets, and magical family fun. Here’s your full guide to all the festive events lighting up SW London this Christmas.
1pm – 4pm
Battersea High Street kicks off the season with a festive afternoon featuring a special Christmas gift market and the official lights switch-on by the Deputy Mayor of Wandsworth. Browse local stalls, pick up unique presents, and soak in the seasonal cheer.

Twickenham is planning a full day of community celebration, live music and festive magic.
From 4.30pm – Carols from Twickenham Primary Academy and Twickenham Green Baptist Church Choir
5pm – Christmas tree switch-on by Deputy Mayor of Richmond, Cllr Clare Vollum
London Square will also be giving away 100 free children’s gift bags.
From 3pm–7pm – Live music and entertainment, with Riverside Radio broadcasting live. Acts include Powerjam Band Project, Step on Stage children’s choir, Richmond Brass Band and the 606 Gospel Group.
6pm – King Street tree and town lights switched on by Cllr Clare Vollum.

Free face painting at Patch (3.30pm–6.30pm)
Makers Market at Patch (2pm–8pm)

Richmond promises one of its biggest celebrations yet.
From 4pm – George Street opens for Be Festive celebrations
From 5pm – Riverside Radio hosts live performances on the main stage
Acts include the ever-popular Wickedly Witches and a whole cast of seasonal roaming characters such as The Grinch, Cindy Lou, Candy Cane Stilt Walkers and giant Nutcrackers.
5:45pm – Official switch-on by the Mayor of Richmond
6pm – Bells ring out from St Mary Magdalene Church for the perfect magical moment.
Plus: 🎁 The much-loved 12 Days of Christmas Competition returns from 1st December, with prizes from Be Richmond’s local businesses.

Make sure you're at the Riverside Radio stage on Southside’s Piazza by 5pm for the big moment.
Delivered by Wandsworth Town BID, Southside Wandsworth and Ram Quarter, the festival raises money for Wandsworth Foodbank with donation points throughout the area.
